Small Flowers, Clouds and Linked Diamond Pattern - Recreation (2025, by Katsuji Wakisaka)
A reinterpretation of a kimono pattern composed of interlocking diamonds,
drifting clouds, and scattered blossoms.
It carries the distinctive motifs unique to kimono,
along with a sense of space and openness.
When it becomes a SOU・SOU garment,
an entirely distinctive world begins to emerge.
Imagining that transformation as I draw
is what makes the work so rewarding.

Petites fleurs, nuages et motif de losanges entrelacés - Recréation (2025 par Katsuji Wakisaka)
Une réinterprétation d’un motif de kimono composé de losanges entrelacés,
de nuages flottants et de fleurs éparpillées.
Il reprend les motifs caractéristiques propres au kimono,
tout en évoquant une sensation d’espace et d’ouverture.
Sous la forme d’un vêtement SOU・SOU,
un univers tout à fait unique commence à se dessiner.
Imaginer cette transformation quand je dessine
est ce qui rend ce travail si gratifiant.
