文をあらわしていた。

成就したりしなかったりしたようだ。
女性はひらがなで文をあらわしていた。
その流れるような筆づかいは
美しく日本人のたおやかさ豊かさが感じられる。

"Letters"（2009,by Katsuji Wakisaka）
In the era when The Tale of Genji was written,
people composed poems and expressed their thoughts
on rolls of washi paper.
It seems that the success or failure of a romance
often depended on the content of those poems and writings.
Women wrote using hiragana,
and their flowing brush strokes
convey a graceful beauty that reflects the gentleness
and richness of the Japanese spirit.

À l’époque du Dit du Genji, on composait sur des rouleaux de washi.
L’aboutissement d’une relation amoureuse dépendait uniquement
de ces poèmes, chansons et écrits.
Les femmes de l’époque écrivait en hiragana.
Ce style d’écriture très doux nous fait magnifiquement ressentir
la finesse et la richesse des japonais.
