“縦縞 平成17年”
縞は昔からある そしてどこの国にもある
似たようなものもあるが それぞれ微妙に異なっていて
それぞれの民族が風土の中で作り出してきたものだと思う
僕が作る縞は日本人の血と若い日を送った
フィンランドの雰囲気が自然と出てくる

Vertical Stripe (2005, by Katsuji Wakisaka)
Stripes have existed for a long time
and exist in any country.
They might look similiar but each one is slightly different.
Each of them was created in the terroir of that nation.
I created a stripe pattern which naturally expresses the atmosphere of Finland,
flowing with the blood of Japanese people and my younger days.

Rayures verticales (2005 par Katsuji Wakisaka)
Les rayures existent depuis la nuit des temps, quelque soit le pays.
Certaines se ressemblent mais elles sont toutes légèrement différentes.
Je pense qu'elles ont été créées par différents peuples sous différents climats.
Celles que je conçois ont une hérédité japonaise et un reflet de mes jeunes années.
Une atmosphère finlandaise s'en dégage naturellement.

條紋圖案自古就存在，無論哪個國家都有。
它們雖然看起來相似，卻又有著微妙的差異。
我認為這是不同民族在其風土氣候下所創造出來的。
我創作的條紋帶有日本人的血液也反映了我的青春，
自然而然地流露出芬蘭的氛圍。
